Built in the 1880s, the Former Governors' Mansion housed the state's governors until 1960. An elegant southern-style Victorian mansion, the house has been restored to its 1890s look, when it was first used to house the state's leader. Descriptive panels, antiques and period furnishings are scattered throughout the building's many rooms, along with displays of various wallpapers that were used in the mansion over the years. The mansion lies downtown, half a mile south of the North Dakota State Capitol Building.
Open mid-May - mid-Sep: Wed. - Sun. 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Free.
