Also known as "The Skyscraper on the Prairie," the North Dakota State Capitol Building is a looming 240-foot tall structure—the tallest in the area. Built in 1934, the building's grounds feature feature 75 species of trees and shrubs, a scenic Prairie Trail and numerous monuments. Tours of the capitol are available, leading visitors up to the scenic 18th floor observation deck. It stands proudly downtown, and the grounds also contain the North Dakota Heritage Center and the Governor's Residence.
Tours run Mon. - Fri., 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
